At Afrohub's mission is bringing the rich essence of Afro-Caribbean culture to life through by fostering connection, appreciation and showcasing Afro-Caribbean hairstyling, cuisine, and beauty services across Canada.

Knowing
Our users
For both "Vendors" and "Customers", we required lots of testing and observing how AfroHub users engage with our product.
We identified key usability challenges and continuously refined the design, making it more intuitive and user-friendly for the entire AfroHub community.
Fixing Pain Points
With customizable filters where users could narrow their search based on service type (Hair, Makeup & beauty, and Food), location, price range, and availability. This allowed users to access relevant services more efficiently, instead of being overwhelmed by irrelevant listings.


User Research
We conducted interviews and surveys, in order to narrow down some of the key features and services that became part of our minimum viable product.
With the consideration of expanding, we established the most popular services within the 3 categories (Hair, Beauty & Makeup, and Food),

System
I developed a design system that authentically represents Afro-Caribbean users, on AfroHub, ensuring a consistent and cohesive design across the platform, while also engaging them with excitement
